Perfectly timed for the summer, producer and guitarist Shamrock gives us this gorgeously languid afrobeat remix of Blue Dream’s ‘Theme Song’.
Raised in Kwathema (a township outside of Johannesburg) and famous in South Africa for his live guitar jams with DJs in the world capital of house music, he first met Blue Dream’s Andy Compton back in 2014. Andy then guested on Shamrock’s first album and remaining friends and admirers, Andy requested this remix from Shamrock and it is a beauty. The original’s sunset beach jam is revved up with chiming guitars, Shamrock’s own take on the classic driving afrobeat rhythm whilst maintaining that deliciously relaxed vibe that the whole album projects. Included in this package is a radio edit that floats by so calmly, you want to instantly hear it again which is where the extended version comes into play. Dance, sit, sway, fire up a BBQ, this is music for life.
