The album version of Blue Dream’s ‘The Kiss’ is a horizontal groove of deep lushness and this remix package thankfully doesn’t take the tempo up to cardio sweat levels. in contrast but builds on the sumptuous vocals of Irantzu Pujadas’s love whispers and the uncomplicated keys and drum machine soul of the original.

Andy Compton’s ‘other’ band The Rurals toughens up the drums slightly on the Extended Edit, adding diamond sharp shine and sparkle to the already vivid synths amplifying its sunshine aura that bit more.

The two mixes from South African producer and label head of Ancestral Recordings, Octopuz, explore a slightly different avenue. The Deeper Vocal Remix deconstructs the linear storyline of the song with a more gentle broken beat feel. A change in the chords leaves a shadow of jazzy dreaminess with its bubbling bass and scattered percussion making this a great track to mix in and out of, stretching out the groove to infinity.

Octopuz’s Sunset Remix treads a more recognisable deep house groove with its Roland drum pattern and filtered down chords. The arpeggiated synth bass line is what truly makes this version so playful and funky, creating a perfect tune to get down to with your new found friends on the dancefloor.
